Special Needs Centre In Penang — Learning Beyond Worksheets

At Lumora Education, we run a special needs centre in Penang for children aged 3–12 with mild autism, ADHD or learning difficulties, combining personalised learning with hands-on activities, communication practice and social interaction. Based in Bukit Gambir, we offer early intervention, after-school support and Saturday enrichment, with weekly progress updates to help you follow your child’s learning.

What you can expect for your child
  • We begin with an initial consultation and assessment before recommending a programme, so you can explore the fit before committing.
  • Our learning goals include communication, social participation, academic development and everyday independence—not worksheet completion alone.
  • Weekly updates help you follow your child’s progress; Laith Kiddo adds AI-supported activity tracking and personalised digital learning.
  • Our published early intervention and after-school packages offer two-day, three-day and Monday–Friday attendance options.

Your child’s learning goals should include life beyond the desk

We build opportunities to communicate, cooperate and practise everyday tasks into learning, alongside academic support. For a family choosing a centre, that means looking beyond the number of exercises completed to the skills your child has opportunities to use.

You may want help with schoolwork while also wanting your child to ask for assistance, join an activity or take turns with another child. Those are distinct goals. At Lumora, conversation practice, sharing, following instructions and emotional regulation are woven into our programmes rather than treated as separate from learning.

Our hands-on and outdoor activities give children room to explore and participate. Positive reinforcement supports involvement without making every activity feel like a test. We work towards confidence and independence at your child’s pace; we do not promise identical results for every child.

From an initial assessment to activities and weekly updates

We connect programme selection, personalised activities and parent updates so you have a clearer view of what your child is working on. Our starting point is your child’s needs—not choosing the largest package.

  1. Explore the fit before enrolment. Our initial consultation and assessment let your child and our teachers get to know each other. This helps us recommend a suitable programme before you commit to a package.
  2. Match support to your child’s stage. We offer foundational learning for younger children, after-school guidance for school-going children and hands-on Saturday activities. Your child’s age and learning priorities guide the discussion.
  3. Practise skills through participation. Communication activities, group learning and daily life skills create opportunities to use what is being learned. In our after-school programme, small-group academic support includes homework, reading, writing and maths.
  4. Use technology to inform personalisation. Laith Kiddo tracks how your child interacts with activities. AI-supported review helps us identify strengths and areas needing support, while giving you a way to follow learning at home.
  5. Keep you informed. We provide weekly progress updates. Our website also describes monthly progress reports and developmental notes that you can share with your child’s school teacher.

The programme choices below are starting points for that conversation, not a recommendation based on age alone. You can explore the full programme range before enquiring.

Programme fees reflect attendance, not one centre-wide package

For families comparing regular support, our published early intervention and after-school fees range from RM480 to RM1,200 per month, with the same attendance-based pricing for both programmes. Saturday enrichment has separate session-length options, so compare the schedule and purpose—not just the lowest monthly price.

ProgrammePublished scheduleMonthly fee
Early intervention, ages 3–68:30 am–12:30 pm; two days, three days or Monday–FridayRM480 / RM720 / RM1,200 respectively
PPKI after-school, ages 6–122:00 pm–5:00 pm; two days, three days or Monday–FridayRM480 / RM720 / RM1,200 respectively
Saturday enrichment, ages 4–1211:00 am–1:00 pm or 9:00 am–1:00 pmRM250 / RM500 respectively

We also allow families to begin with fewer weekly sessions and increase frequency as their child settles in or goals change. Before enrolling, ask us to confirm your chosen schedule, package inclusions and any separate charges; the published monthly fee should not be read as an all-inclusive quotation.

Find a starting programme—not just a price list

Enquire with your child’s age, school routine and the skills you most want to support. Ask to arrange our initial consultation and assessment so you receive a programme recommendation before committing.

Choose support for participation, not only completed schoolwork

Our approach is designed for families whose priorities include communication, social confidence and everyday independence as well as academics. If your only priority is subject practice, tuition may be the narrower service you need; at Lumora, we also provide hands-on activities, group interaction and weekly parent updates.

This is a comparison of learning priorities, not a claim that other centres use only worksheets. Ask any provider—including us—to explain how its activities connect to your child’s goals.

At Lumora, practical learning and parent visibility belong together

At Lumora Education, we bring personalised learning, practical activities and parent involvement into one centre-based offer. Our journey began with one-to-one support in 2023, developed into RS Star Learning in 2024 and evolved into Lumora Education in 2026, as described in our centre’s story.

We serve families from our Bukit Gambir centre and welcome those travelling from across Penang. For you, the important question is whether the programme goals and attendance routine are workable for your child—not simply whether a centre offers many services.

See the people and practical activities behind our learning approach

Our published activity records and team information give you concrete starting points for evaluating our approach. They show what we offer, rather than proving a guaranteed developmental outcome.

Practical participation: Our waffle-making activity record, published 25 September 2026, shows a child handling ingredients and a utensil beside a waffle maker. It documents an opportunity to practise everyday tasks, not a measured before-and-after result.

A named educator behind the centre: Co-founder Ridhwan Shariff, known as Teacher Wan, began working directly with neurodivergent children in 2023. Our team profile describes his work in inclusive education and personalised learning support.
A way to stay involved: Weekly progress updates give you recurring information about learning, while monthly reports and developmental notes can support conversations with your child’s school teacher.

Before you choose your child’s programme

Yes. We start with an initial consultation and assessment so your child and our teachers can get to know each other before enrolment. Tell us your child’s age, current school routine and main learning priorities when arranging this first step.

Yes. Our early intervention and after-school packages include two-day and three-day weekly options as well as Monday–Friday attendance. We support beginning with a lighter routine and reviewing frequency as your child settles in or learning goals change.

No. Our centre’s approach includes hands-on activities, outdoor exploration and group interaction. Laith Kiddo complements that work through interactive learning and AI-supported activity tracking; it is not the whole programme. Ask us how digital activities would fit your child’s proposed schedule.
Give your child opportunities to learn, participate and connect

Contact us to arrange an initial consultation and assessment. Share what your child enjoys, where support is needed and which attendance days you can manage; we can then recommend a programme to explore before you commit.
